Mistral and Alexander Dennis recently delivered four new vehicles to the London Borough of Havering, supplied with a Mistral rental solution. The current fleet has been joined by three new Alexander Dennis Enviro200 buses – two compact 8.9m long examples and a larger 10.8m bus – and a high-capacity Plaxton Leopard coach with 72 seats.

All of London Borough of Havering’s vehicles run on gas-to-liquid (GTL) fuel which is virtually free of impurities such as sulphur, metals, nitrogen and aromatics, making it less harmful to the environment and allowing engines to run more smoothly and quietly.

London Borough of Havering’s Transport Contracts Manager, Ian Dunsdon, commented: “This latest investment continues our fleet renewal and adds another four vehicles with a great combination of accessibility, passenger capacity and low emissions. In particular, our first 72-seat Plaxton Leopard will open up new markets as we will be able to accommodate larger groups.”

Alexander Dennis Regional Sales Manager, Mark Taylor, added: “Customers benefit from our unique ability as the only company to build both buses and coaches in Britain to tailor the vehicle mix to every operational requirement. Combined with the rental package from our friends at Mistral, this enables a very flexible solution for the London Borough of Havering, which has resulted in this much-appreciated repeat order.”

Mistral Group National Retail Sales Manager, Freddie Fuller, said: “It’s great to see the London Borough of Havering looking to expand their fleet with more quality Alexander Dennis and Plaxton products. These four brand-new vehicles are ideally suited to the council’s operational requirements, helping to achieve its environmental targets as well as providing accessible transport solutions for all whilst maintaining a high passenger capacity. Mistral is delighted to have been chosen to provide a flexible rental solution which has been designed to meet the needs of the council.”
