Job Title: Bookkeeper/Trainee Accountant

As a Bookkeeper/Trainee Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and supporting the overall financial operations of our organization.

Responsibilities:

Perform day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including but not limited to, recording financial transactions, maintaining general ledgers, and reconciling accounts.

Prepare and process invoices, bills, and receipts.

Conduct regular bank reconciliations and maintain accurate cash flow records.

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

Prepare financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.

Help ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and internal policies.

Collaborate with the finance team to support month-end and year-end closing processes.

Work closely with external auditors during financial audits.

Qualifications:

Training to become a chartered accountant can be provided following successful completion of probation.

Previous bookkeeping experience would be beneficial but not necessary.

Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial regulations.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The opportunity to become a chartered accountant through your preferred route to be discussed at interview.

A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred but not required.
